Conversations with Gil
Greater Toronto for Everyone
A Greater Toronto for Everyone
Having worked in over 350 cities around the world,
I want to share doable ideas, and listen.
How do we want to live?
• How will children go to school?
• Can schools become the heart of the neighbourhood where most community activities take place in non-school hours?
• How will people move? Walking? Riding bicycles? Using public transit? New uses of cars?
• Where will the additional 50% population live? What kind of density? Proximity?

• What will be the role of parks and other public spaces?
• Will there be nature everywhere?
• Will everyone’s health improve by making healthier lifestyles the easier option? How?
• How to create neighbourhoods that are good for children, especially for 0 – 4-year-olds and their caretakers?

• How can all live older, healthier, happier?
• Will the Greater Toronto be able to retain, and to attract the best possible people, in all areas, to have good quality of life and success economically?
• Will health, physical, mental, emotional, and the environment, become the two key indicators for most government decisions at all levels?

Why Greater Toronto?
It is the urban area where Gil chose as home 26 years ago. It’s a fascinating region, surrounded by Lake Ontario, rivers, creeks, spectacular parks, nature everywhere. Population from all over, more than half of Toronto’s residents were born in another country. whose population is growing very fast.
These conversations aim to raise the level of engagement, to help people become advocates on creating a Greater Toronto that is more equitable, sustainable, and fun, where all can live healthier and happier.
Gil does not charge anything to the community hosting him.
